Isola Design District – Open studios September 28 – October 10
RivaViva relaunches its quest for design that cares about people’s health and the well-being of the planet. The historic brand reinforces its partnership with Artisan’s master wood craftsmen. Essences treated and finished with natural oils, waxes and varnishes that preserve the “naturalness” of the artifacts, total control of the production process, projects signed by the “Sarajevo school” and great European designers. Furniture that condenses search for beauty, respect for nature and passion for “handmade”.
From Sept. 28 to Oct. 10, 2020, the City of Milan is holding Milano Re-Design City an event dedicated to the culture of design and innovation, with a focus on the redesign of urban spaces, sustainability and the circular economy.
A front on which RivaViva, the historic Brianza-based brand that has been making solid wood furniture with a passion for “handmade” since the 1920s, has long been engaged: each piece on display in the showroom in the heart of the Isola District is made with love and refined craftsmanship, a synthesis of nature, beauty and innovation.
The wood used for each piece of furniture comes from controlled cultivation, the processing and finishing phases are marked by total respect for the environment, and fabrics and upholstery are 100 percent natural.
This sensitivity to design that is attentive to craftsmanship, beauty, and at the same time the well-being of people and the planet, prompted RivaViva to strengthen its collaboration with the wood masters of Artisan, a company that specializes in the production of high-quality furniture (it recently signed the furniture of many Starbucks stores around the world, including those in Milan).
A dialogue that resulted in new pieces designed by signatures of the “Sarajevo School,” as well as designers from all over Europe. The design as the result of materials treated only with superheated steam (so as not to compromise the structure and ecological values of wood), dried naturally, finished using natural oils, soaps, waxes and varnishes (without solvents, petroleum, formaldehyde and other toxic agents), challenging the limits of handcrafted woodcarving.
Not only a choice in favor of beauty and the environment, but also the health of those who live in the home and its furnishings. Design, in short, “healthy, beautiful and sustainable.”
Milano Design City: the goal is to revive the Design Italia System, which opens again to the public without forgetting the period just past: all events will comply with health safety regulations.
