Wood, nature, light and colours. RivaViva and Grupa at the Salone del Mobile 2023

Once again, at this latest edition of the Salone del Mobile in Milan, RivaViva – the historic Milanese brand that has always championed design focused on people’s health and the planet’s wellbeing – renews its commitment to artisanal quality, beauty and innovation. Alongside furniture made from certified timber, produced using entirely “green” manufacturing processes, there is a Home range that celebrates the interweaving of cultures, featuring the colours of KeChic“s African wax prints, and the magic of lighting design, thanks to the beautiful Grupa lamps – by Filip Despot, Ivana Pavic and Tihana Taraba – on display throughout the fair week: each one hand-assembled, they combine minimalism, functionality and the ability to ”design light“ by playing with the way it occupies space and influences mood…

There is great anticipation for the Salone del Mobile, which in its 2023 edition will take place from 18 to 23 April at Fiera Milano Rho. The key themes of this edition will be sustainability and training; of particular note is the return to the fair of Euroluce, the event dedicated to lighting design, which, after a four-year hiatus, brings the sector’s leading brands back to the exhibition halls.

Everything is ready for this event at RivaViva, the historic brand that has been crafting solid wood furniture since the 1920s with a passion for ”handcrafted« pieces: every piece on display in the showroom in the heart of the Isola district is crafted with refined artisanal care, a focus on people’s health and a commitment to the well-being of the planet. The wood used for every piece of furniture comes from sustainably managed forests; the manufacturing and finishing processes are carried out with total respect for the environment; and the fabrics and upholstery are 100% natural. In short, a design that combines »beauty and sustainability“.

This year, the central theme of the RivaViva collection is a design inspired by nature, light and colour. The range will feature the warm, cosy shades of its Home line: tablecloths, bedspreads, blankets, cushions and upholstery created in partnership with KeChic – the Milanese social tailoring workshop that combines African creativity with Italian sartorial tradition, making creative use of wax fabrics through the innovative pairing of patterns by home stylist Sonia Abbondi.

But this year, light and colour will be enhanced by the magic of lighting design: during the Salone week, the RivaViva spaces will showcase the beautiful Grupa lamps – made in Croatia by the multi-award-winning studio of Filip Despot, Ivana Pavic and Tihana Taraba – each hand-assembled with artisanal skill, combining minimalism, functionality and the ability to ”design light“ by playing with the way it occupies space and affects the mood. Thanks to lighting, one can create captivating atmospheres, lending a space a sense of warmth, intimacy or cheerfulness, thereby transforming the look of the interior. The lamps by the Croatian designers at Grupa allow for maximum control over light intensity and the perfect level of diffusion, as well as being fully customisable online.

”Colour is a power that directly influences the soul,“ said the painter Wassily Kandinsky. Living amidst natural elements, in a space enhanced by the right light, improves our quality of life. Take RivaViva’s word for it! And at the Salone del Mobile, you’ll find us at Hall 22, Stand E28, in the ”Consorzio Vero Legno‘

Join us on Thursday 20 April, from 6.00 pm onwards, for an evening showcasing the beautiful Grupa lamps… in Milan’s Isola district, at Via Porro Lambertenghi 18.
