The innovative project "All the Lives of Wood"
RivaViva is delighted to announce its new collaboration with the European Institute of Design (IED) in Rome. The project, entitled "All the Lives of Wood", is set to redefine the way in which furniture design combines aesthetics, functionality and respect for the environment. Through this partnership, RivaViva reaffirms its commitment to sustainable innovation and to engaging the younger generation in building a more environmentally conscious future.
The aim of the project
The "All the Lives of Wood" project will see students on the Product Design course for the 2024/25 academic year working on innovative design concepts for furniture and home accessories, using the pioneering Digital Passport Product (DPP). This partnership aims to forge a new paradigm in sustainable design, combining RivaViva’s expertise in woodworking with the fresh and bold creativity of IED students. At the heart of the project is the development of an initial product that embodies the principles of sustainability and innovation, traceable via the DPP. The project represents a unique opportunity for young designers to put their skills and creativity to the test. The students will work closely with RivaViva’s professionals, developing innovative concept designs for furniture and home accessories.
A new generation of designers
The students will have the unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge materials and technologies, guided by RivaViva’s expertise and the innovative vision of IED lecturers. The best projects will have the chance to be developed and marketed under the RivaViva brand. This collaboration perfectly embodies the mission to train designers who are not only creative but also aware of their impact on the world. Students will be able to design furniture that meets aesthetic and functional criteria whilst also being fully sustainable. This approach enables us to educate a new generation of designers in environmental responsibility, making them active players in the transition towards a circular economy.
The collaboration between RivaViva and IED Rome
The collaboration between RivaViva and IED is a shining example of synergy between the academic and business worlds. It is not only an opportunity to promote innovation in the design sector, but also to raise public awareness of the importance of making informed choices regarding furniture and sustainability. "Tutte le vite del Legno" is much more than just a project: it represents a bridge between the present and the future, between innovation and tradition, between creativity and sustainability. This collaboration between RivaViva and IED demonstrates how design can be a powerful tool for tackling environmental challenges, engaging the younger generations in a journey of awareness and responsibility.
