Object Berlin

Cities is a series of micro-architectures created by designer Carlo Massoud. Inspired by his travels around the world, each piece is a reinterpretation of a global landmark – a structure of significant historical, architectural or cultural importance. This piece is inspired by the Franziskaner-Klosterkirche in Berlin, Germany. It was founded in 1250 and built in the early Gothic style as a monastery church for a Franciscan house. It was destroyed in the bombing of Berlin during the Second World War and today serves as a venue for exhibitions, theatre performances and concerts. A striking sculpture that can also serve as a small storage container. The artist’s creativity is brought to life by master craftsmen in the woodworking and carving workshop.
