Sandwich Futon

The Karup Sandwich futon is a 16 cm-thick mattress made up of 90–95% cotton, with 5–10% foam and coconut fibre inside, giving it greater density and thickness than traditional Japanese futons. The outer cover is 100% cotton. The cotton in the futon moulds to your body, the coconut fibre layer supports it, and the foam layer absorbs slight movements.

Karup’s design stems from the perfect blend of minimalist, essential Scandinavian design and Japanese futons. All its creations are convertible solid wood furniture: rooms for teenagers, guest rooms, first homes and summer houses. Karup harnesses the benefits of futons to find new, unexplored solutions. All beds and sofa beds are made entirely from natural wood, thus ensuring a perfect balance between a culture of personal well-being and an eco-sustainable philosophy.
