RivaViva and KeChic

Mar 20, 2024

A partnership in the name of creativity and the warmth of the African continent that between the KeChic social tailoring and the RivaViva natural and eco-sustainable furnishing line. Pillows, bedspreads, runners, duvet covers that combine the warm and bright colours of wax fabrics with the best Italian craftsmanship tradition. With a keen eye on the environment and social sustainability.

A new Home line made to unite cultures and passions presented for the first time during Design Week 2022. Born from the meeting of four people who each bring their own background and history. Cristina Riva, architect and Ceo of Riva, in the early 1990s combined the knowledge of solid wood from the family company’s traditional craftsmanship with a green philosophy, attentive to people’s health and the well-being of the planet: the result is a new line of eco-sustainable furniture; Sonia Abbondi, homestylist, always up-to-date on the latest trends, able to give shape and color to the customer’s desires; Valeria Zanoni, a communications professional in love with Africa who, together with Cheick Diattara, a professional tailor trained at the Centre Handicapé in Dakar, created the KeChic brand. Pillows, runners and bedspreads that bring the warmth and charm of Africa to the living room and bedroom. Unique pieces, made sustainably and with the magical power of “handmade”; patterns that vibrate with positive energy and evoke distant atmospheres. The wax fabric with its fascinating history-born in Holland, produced on the Island of Java, then crossing Africa and spreading around the world-its symbolic language and polychromes, combines with every style and environment strongly characterizing the space. No wax ever goes unnoticed: from the most naturalistic and decorative, inspired by the East, with floral weavings or sacred animals, to the most ironic and pop with objects and icons of modernity. All accessories are made without neglecting respect for the environment, so that furnishing home is an act of love not only to oneself, but also to the planet. So no waste, reuse of offcuts, one-of-a-kind pieces to reduce inventory, as well as that attention to the most fragile that bears the signature of KeChic tailoring-where each piece is sewn by people in need, especially foreign tailors, refugees or the disabled. The line born from the partnership between RivaViva and KeChic promises a joyful and welcoming home that conveys energy, good humor and vitality.
