Off-show events at RivaViva
Design, health and sustainability compete in Milan for Design Week: Riva Arredamenti launches the First “RivaViva Eco Awards,” an award to be given to the best eco-friendly furniture.
In the RivaViva Space in the Isola district, in addition to the furniture from the exclusive woodwork signed by the historic Brianza-based brand, will come the furniture created by the designers of the “School of Sarajevo” – represented by the companies Artisan and Gazzda, with which internationally renowned designers such as Salih Teskeredzic and Mustafa Cohadizic collaborate – that take up the typical skill and craftsmanship of wood carvings of the local tradition and that only RivaViva exclusively represents throughout Italy.
Each piece displayed in the showroom, made with love and refined craftsmanship, is not just a piece of furniture, but an example of modern decorative art.
The task of voting for the one that best represents the synthesis of nature, beauty and innovation will fall to journalists (who will award the Exclusive Eco Award 2018) and the public (who will vote for the Testing Eco Award 2018), who will have ballots on which to indicate the number of the selected piece of furniture.
The watchword for the event is.
A “zero-impact” life that does not give up beauty.
Not only a pro-environmental choice, but also a choice for the health of those who experience the home and its furnishings.
Design as the result of effective conception of materials (that do not contain harmful substances, such as solvents, petroleum, formaldehyde and other toxic agents) and design intelligence.
Design, in short, “healthy, beautiful and sustainable.”
The appointment for everyone is for the next
Thursday, April 19, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., when journalists and the public will be able to visit the exhibition space and cast their votes in a competition on the theme of “eco-friendly furniture.”
The final awards ceremony, on the other hand, will take place during the evening event on May 10.
