Milan Design Week 2019 – World Preview of RIVAVIVA’s “ONE PIECES” Line.

Apr 9, 2018

Maurizio Nazzaretto’s Art and Riva Design come together giving birth to true unique and inimitable pieces.
At Spazio RivaViva in Milan, during the open day on Thursday, April 11, design, art, health and sustainability come together to create “unique and unrepeatable” furnishings.
The “unique pieces” line will involve artists ready to espouse RivaViva’s philosophy.
Inaugurating the new “unique pieces” line invented by visionary-creative designer Marzio Villari are artist Maurizio Nazzaretto, architect Cristina Riva andinterior designer Alessandra Taravacci . Nazzaretto with his work offers an ironic and disenchanted metaphor for the human condition, which has always been the central theme of his work. Indeed, in the workmanship of his wooden platforms, one can perceive a dimension of disorientation and unrecognizability of time and space, which are the main coordinates of human existence. ”

These are works depicting imaginary cities, urban plants as bas-reliefs in which anthropomorphic flies live, hiding in holes in the wood.
The urban fabric is devastated, worn out and becomes almost the place of fear where man is always alone and seeks refuge
” says Nazzaretto. During the preview, in the presence of the artist, those present were able to bring their input thus participating in the creation of the new table-map by writing directly on a piece of wood, the word that most represents their ideal city. All these words will become the next table in Riva’s “unique pieces” line. The AaltoArt table is designed by architect Cristina Riva and incorporates the interlocking designed by architect Paola Balderacchi, complemented by a crystal that allows the work to be viewed at all times and at the same time always usable. The OndaViva table by interior designer Alessandra Taravacci is visually connected to the flap mechanism of the table itself, which becomes “double face”: a work of art to be seen and enjoyed and at the same time also a usable top. All the tables that will be produced will be one different from the other, just like a work of art, and they can be ordered with the sizes that best suit the Client, in perfect harmony with Boiserie Riva’s historical “made-to-measure” experience.
